How To Choose Healthy Dehydrated Fruits And Vegetables

Release time:2023-07-08

Dehydrated fruits and vegetables are processed by washing and slicing fruits and vegetables, removing most of the water content through multiple processes, and concentrating the sugar and other components inside the fruits and vegetables. Dehydrated fruits and vegetables are relatively nutritious snacks.

To choose products without additional sugar (such as white granulated sugar, maltose syrup), oil, salt and any food additives, you can check the ingredients list after purchase. Do not choose those made by frying or candied fruits with a large amount of sugar.

Due to the high sugar content in dried fruit, it can be used to replace white sugar and other added sugar. For example, dried red dates and dried longans in Babao Congee can replace white sugar.

For the intake of dried fruits and vegetables, it is recommended not to exceed 30 grams per day, and after eating dried fruits and vegetables, the amount of fruits or staple foods on the day should be correspondingly reduced to avoid excessive total calorie intake. If you are eating fried dried fruits and vegetables, you should also pay attention to controlling the total fat intake for a day.
